Swimmer of the Week

Jace Chouinard, Maine Maritime Academy
Junior / North Fort Myers, Florida
Maine Maritime’s Jace Chouinard recorded a pair of ECAC Open Championship qualifying times during last week’s Maine State Championship meet. He placed 10th overall in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:59.71, recording the top time in that event in the NAC this season and achieving the ECAC “A” cut qualifying mark. He achieved an ECAC “B” cut qualifying mark in the 200 Freestyle at the Maine championship, finishing 17th in the event after touching the wall in 1:48.23 for the best 200 Free time in the NAC this season.
 

Diver of the Week

Spencer Bernat, Husson University
Senior / Westerly, Rhode Island
Husson University diver Spencer Bernat finished fourth in the one-meter dive competition at the Maine State Championship with a score of 213.55. He also competed in the three-meter diving event for the first time in his career, and finished fourth with a score of 182.60.
 

Rookie of the Week

Jay Creegan, Maine Maritime Academy
First Year / East Brunswick, New Jersey
Jay Creegan had a breakout weekend for Maine Maritime men’s swimming, recording five personal best marks including the 1650 Freestyle school record with a time of 17:50.89. Creegan also set personal bests in the 500 Freestyle (5:06.19), the 50 Freestyle (23.94), the 200 Freestyle (1:52.99), and the 100 Freestyle (52.66). Creegan also participated in three relays events for the Mariners.
